Official Statement Regarding Changes to the Library's Hours of Operation

Gregory Staff,

Below is the proposed language for all staff to use if you get questions about hours reductions from our customers. Please note that we hope to have the FAQ’s printed and available early next week. Please refrain from adding your personal commentary to this statement.

Question: Why are you not open on (fill-in-the-blank) day? Or, Why are you not open until (time)?

Answer: HPL has had to reduce hours in order to adequately staff all of our locations. We’ve put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions that explains the decision. Would you like one?

Reading Room Blinds

All,

Please do not adjust the blinds in the reading room. Constant readjustments causes the pulleys to break and become stuck. If you notice anything broken please contact Ingrid Grant or Natasha Dunn so they can generate a sprocket to have the item fixed.

The African American Library at the Gregory School

Microfilm Reader

Allied Imaging called regarding the coin box on the microfilm machine. They have to disable the coin box and order new keys. Patrons will be able to use the microfilm machine,but they can not print. For any questions or concerns regarding this matter please contact Ingrid Grant or Hellena Stokes.

Repairs to The African American Library at the Gregory School Parking Lot

Good Morning Gregory Staff,

A contractor from Terracon will be at the facility today to do some drilling and take some samples in your parking lot area. If the drilling locations fall in a parking space, a patron or staff may need to move their vehicle. They are scheduled to be there at 9am.
